NEW RELEASES:

MADONNA: Unreleased Mixes, vol. 10 – We have to start with the Madonna releases!  Unreleased 10 is a remix album containing some of the best unreleased remixes of both classic Madonna hits and newer songs!  On top of the 10 new remixes, there are also 2 bonus demo tracks that were never released officially! 

MADONNA: 80’s DJ Promo Mixes – The official promo mixes to ten of Madonna’s greatest hits from the 80s compiled onto one CD!  These remixes are amazing.

Goldfrapp: Silver Eye – This masterfully crafted album has it all. It’s emotionally rich, enjoyably lighthearted at times, and overall fun to listen to.  Alison Goldfrapp is not shy to show off what her voice can do on these tracks which range from high energy dance beats to ambient electronic chill-out vibes.  Definitely check this one out on vinyl or CD!

Depeche Mode: Spirit – Never shy to speak their minds, the 2016 US presidential election certainly influenced the writing on this 37 year old band’s 14th album.  The classic Depeche Mode synths and beats paired with Dave Gahan’s instantly recognizable voice make this album feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Check it out on deluxe edition CD, standard CD, and vinyl now!

Spoon: Hot Thoughts – We LOVE this album!  A little more daring than anything else the band has tried before, this album is a pop/rock masterpiece!  Fun at times, serious at other times, and extremely musically appealing, the band keeps its signature sound while also experimenting with more complicated chord progressions and studio techniques. Available on LIMITED EDITION – RED VINYL only available at INDIE record stores, like us!

DNCE: DNCE – Not a new release, just a notice that this (one of our favorite albums of 2016) is now available on vinyl!

RECORD STORE DAY!

Record Store Day:

Many of you probably know about April RSD, but less know about Fall RSD. Every year on Black Friday, several artists drop special releases exclusively to independent record stores like Borderline!  There were tons of great titles this year and we still have a few copies of some of them left in store!  The Ramones, The Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, The Bangles, Motley Crue, and Jimmy Hendricks to name a few.   Check them out at our Chicago storefront!

Kylie Minogue

It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally here!  Kylie Unreleased: Vol. 3!  This album is packed with 19 previously unreleased tracks recorded by Kylie Minogue and we LOVE it!  Hear Kylie collaborate with huge artists such as Shaggy, Just Jack, Sam Sparro, Jake Shears, and more!  Kylie also covers “Bette Davis Eyes” originally recorded by Kim Carnes.  This album also features a brand new Spanglish version of her World Music Award – World’s Best Song winner “Limpido,” now titled “Limpio.”  You need to hear this album!  Kylie Unreleased vol. 1 and 2 also available in our store!  Click here!

New Order

Remember New Order's amazing 2015 release - Music Complete??  They've re-released it with extended versions and remixes of the same songs called Complete Music!  This double CD features extended versions of all tracks from New Order's 2015 album: Music Complete. These mixes have been compiled into a new version of the album titled Complete Music.Complete Music was released on CD and digital formats on 13 May 2016. Click HERE to check it out!

Vinyl Release: Gwen Stefani

Radiohead

You’ve all been asking and here is the answer: June 17!!  That’s right, get Radiohead’s ninth studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool, on CD and Vinyl on June 17. We’ll have it in store, online, and available online for in-store pickup (for those living in Chicago).

Ariana Grande

We all know that Ariana Grande is super talented, that's why it's no surprise that her third studio album -- Dangerous Woman -- is simply outstanding. Fresh modern pop anthems with a little 90's throwback vibe make this album really stand out. Click HERE to buy it on CD!

Kendrick Lamar – untitled unmastered. This album is really something else.  Kendrick Lamar compiled some of the demo tracks recorded in the time leading up to his 2015 release – To Pimp A Butterfly – into this unique album that debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard 200.  Available on CD and Vinyl HERE! New Releases as of March 2016!

Some awesome new releases have found their way into our store.  A few of them are some re-issues of our favorite artists on vinyl!  Keep reading to check out what's new in the store! We're most excited about THE BEST OF SADE being released on vinyl for the first time!  In case you forgot why Sade was your favorite, this vinyl LP is sure to remind you!  Another exciting re-issue out this month was Amy Winehouse - FRANK on Vinyl!

We've already told you about Elton John's new CD in our last post, but we cannot get enough of it!  Catchy, fun, danceable, and addicting!

Hopefully you already know about Gwen Stefani's new album.  Well it's our favorite album from her so far!  Hints of old Gwen, hints of No Doubt, and hints of a newer, stronger, more mature Gwen make this album a treat.  Check it out on CD!  Vinyl is available May 20 but you can pre-order it at a reduced price TODAY!  The album is called This Is What The Truth Feels Like.

Speaking of pre-orders, we're only 6 days away from the release of PET SHOP BOYS' new album - SUPER!  Pre-order the CD and Vinyl today at a reduced price!

March 2016 Update and New Releases!

We're excited about the many major new releases listed in this post along with some of the store news we have to announce!  All artist names and titles listed in this post are linked to the shopping page for each artist.  Just click on a name and a new window will open containing their products!

REISSUES

First up, DAVID BOWIE!  Not only do we have BLACKSTAR back in stock on vinyl, but we also have six of Bowie's classic titles RE-MASTERED and REISSUED on 180-gram vinyl for 2016!  The titles available are Hunky Dory, David Bowie AKA Space Oddity, Pinups, Aladdin Sane, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and The Man Who Sold the World.  Limited supply available so order while you can!

Another major re-issue this month was Amy Winehouse - FRANK!  Her 2003 debut release is back in stock on vinyl.  Hear Amy like you never have before - singing her classic hits on 180-gram vinyl.

NEW RELEASES

Alright, enough with the reissues!  Let's get to some of our favorite NEW RELEASES!

One of our favorite new releases this year is the most recent album by the 1975!  Simply titled I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, this album brings the same glistening guitars, driving beats, and catchy vocal riffs that we fell in love with when the 1975 first got big a couple years ago!

Another favorite new release is MADONNA MASHUPS Vol. 2!  This CD takes some of your favorite Madonna hits and mashes them up with songs by some of our other favorite artists including the Scissor Sisters, Justin Timberlake, Tears For Fears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and more!!  You'll be dancing all night long to this one!

Some other new releases we love include Wet - Don't You, Santigold - 99 Cents, and Ke$ha - Demos & Unreleased.  The final title is a compilation of Kesha's best unreleased songs -- ones she recorded that didn't make it to a record.  A few of the songs on this CD were eventually recorded and officially released by other artists including the Veronicas and Miranda Cosgrove.  This CD will remind you why you fell in love with Ke$ha all those years ago! #freekesha

We have a new feature on our site that allows Illinois Residents to select "in-store pickup" at checkout.  With this feature, you can do all of your shopping at home and avoid shipping charges by stopping into the store at your own convenience to pick up your reserved titles!
